For over a decade, Dr. Horton says that she has had the privilege of working with an amazing team here at Woodhill Family Dental, and the best thing about her job is that she gets to meet all sorts of people and help them achieve their best overall health. It’s been the highlight of her 20+ year dental career, and she can’t wait to show you just how good dental visits can feel when the entire experience is centered on you.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

When Dr. Horton was in college, she was able to shadow her childhood dentist for a day, and after that, she knew she had found her purpose. She enjoys taking care of people and loves that every day, just like every patient, is always unique and interesting.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Horton attended Texas A&M University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry. She went on to the University of Texas at Houston and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

With a focus on aesthetics, Dr. Horton takes over 50 hours of continuing education every year and has completed courses with the Hornbrook Group, Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education, and Spear Education, all nationally recognized, elite post-doctoral organizations. The information and education she receives from these meetings contribute to her ability to provide the best quality care for all of her patients. She is also Invisalign certified and currently a member of the American Dental Association and Texas Dental Association.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Horton and her husband, John, have two daughters as well as two “fur children” (goldendoodles). On the weekends, you’ll typically find her attending volleyball games and dance recitals as well as exercising and cooking. Beyond dentistry and her family, her next greatest passion is traveling the world.
